Markus Lindner war ein einfacher Taxifahrer in der Küstenstadt, der durch ein Missgeschick den Erben der mächtigen Familie Sucher tötete. Auf der Flucht erlebte er Bosheit aus allen Gesellschaftsschichten, blieb aber seinen moralischen Prinzipien treu. Am Ende kehrte er um und suchte das Licht.
